17th Annual Awards Dinner

RNBC is hosting its 17th annual Awards Dinner at the Four Seasons Hotel Chicago in Chicago, Illinois on October 16, 2013. Each year, dinner attendees renew their commitment to improving the lives of children with social, emotional, and academic learning challenges, learn about the latest breakthroughs from experts in their fields, and honor members of the community who have made a difference in the lives of others.
This year, Steven P. Hinshaw, Ph.D. will present “Attention Problems, Clinical Realities, Public Policy, and Stigma: Where Can We Go?” during the dinner’s Education Hour. The presentation will cover ADHD from a variety of perspectives, including: information about the rising rates of diagnosis in children today, controversies involving ADHD, myths regarding the role of biology and culture in its definition, differences in diagnoses between boys and girls, diagnosis and treatment differences across the country, and a discussion of the success and failure of treatments.
This year’s award recipients are:

- Creating the Future Award – David Jaffe and his Family
- Game Changer Award – Marc Weissbluth, M.D., F.A.A.P., The Northwestern Chldren’s Practice Professor of Clinical Pediatrics, Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine
